Programme overview
Boards invest heavily in corporate governance, but few internal audit functions actually put that governance to the test. Policies get written, committees get formed, and frameworks get adopted — and then rarely get independently checked to see whether any of it is actually working.
This five-day course exists to close that gap. You’ll learn how to audit governance itself: assessing board and committee effectiveness, testing “Tone at the Top” against what’s actually happening in the organisation, and applying the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) guidance across every dimension of governance, including the newest one — how organisations govern their own use of AI. By the end, you’ll be equipped to give your board and audit committee genuine assurance on governance maturity, not just confirmation that the paperwork exists.
Key Highlights
- Practical techniques for assessing governance maturity
- Applying IIA guidance and audit standards
- Auditing IT governance and AI governance
- Approaches to ESG, CSR, and reputation management
